Huckleberry’s CEO and Franchisee Talk Partnership with Franchise Chatter

Huckleberry’s CEO and Franchisee Talk Partnership with Franchise Chatter

What makes a great franchise partnership? Huckleberry’s CEO Greg Graber and Oregon franchisee Scott Ganz share their perspectives in a new Q&A with Franchise Chatter.

From the article, Building a Relationship, Not Just a Transaction: Huckleberry’s CEO Greg Graber and Franchisee Scott Ganz on What Makes a Partnership Work:

Since Heritage Restaurant Brands acquired Huckleberry’s in 2016, the brand has grown from seven restaurants to more than 30 locations. Graber says that growth has been built on a strong foundation, proven systems and finding franchise partners who share Huckleberry’s passion for the brand, its standards and the communities it serves.

For Graber, finding the right franchisee goes well beyond financial qualifications. Heritage takes the time to get to know prospective operators and looks for people who are committed to the brand for the long haul.

“At the end of the day, we’re building a relationship, not just a transaction,” Graber says.

Ganz and his family found that partnership when searching for a restaurant concept to bring to Oregon. They were drawn to Huckleberry’s combination of proven franchise systems, scratch-made food and a distinctive guest experience. Their Gresham restaurant became Huckleberry’s first Oregon location and celebrated a record-setting grand opening.

Ganz says Heritage Restaurant Brands has been there throughout the process, providing support from site selection and training through opening the restaurant.

“It’s been an excellent experience,” Ganz says.

For both Graber and Ganz, a successful franchise partnership comes down to shared belief in the brand, strong support and a commitment to working together for long-term success.
